Kings of the Sevens
The rugby union sevens tournaments held annually in the Scottish Borders are collectively known as the Borders Sevens Circuit. It is the oldest Sevens Circuit in the world and the ten most prestigious of these tournaments make up the Kings of the Sevens league competition.
Competing teams are awarded points depending on how far they progress in each tournament; the Winner is awarded ten points, runner up seven points, semi-finalists five points. Teams eliminated at the quarter final stage gain three points.
The Kings of the Sevens title ensures that competition between participating teams remains fierce until the last tournament of the season. The current champions are Selkirk who won their first Kings of the Sevens title in their centenary year.
